2000-08-09 - 02:08:05 This summer has been the best summer I have ever had. I can honestly say that. I have made around 25 friends for life. I will never forget them and they taught me many things. And here they are. What I learned this summer... I learned that children are gifts from God. I learned that fitting in is not neccesary. I learned that God does work in mysterious ways. I learned that children do follow examples, good and bad ones. I learned that nothing is impossible. I learned that hiking is actually fun. I learned that some decisions need to be made, even if they are not the ones that you want to. I learned that it takes minutes to make friends that will last for lifetimes. I learned that my best friend is truly my best friend. I learned that acceptance is one of the hardest things to practice. I learned that all children are wonderful, even the ones that don't listen, even the ones that talk too much, even the ones that pee in their sleeping bags. I learned that God can and will use me. I learned that even when I think I'm not making an impact, I actually am. I learned that a river is a dangerous place. I learned that mountains can be climbed. I learned fires are not easily started. I learned that God listens to prayers. I learned that wagon rides are much more fun when singing. I learned that it doesn't matter if you can sing, it just matters that you do sing. Make a joyful noise, not neccesarily a beautiful one. I learned that I just wanna be a sheep. Baa! I learned that 'yo mama' jokes can be funny. I learned that Josh is a very popular name. I learned that soda is not neccesary, neither are computers, televisions and radios. I learned that snakes are just as scared of you as you are of them. I learned that Pharoah, Pharoah, Baby Shark, Have you ever gone a fishing..., and I like bananas, coconuts and grapes, can get old I learned that the best way to play and teach a child is to become one yourself. I learned that God will always love me, will never forsake me and died on the cross just for me. ~FuzzyTomato John 3:16 previous next SQUASHED Tomatoes FOUR TIMES! - 2004-03-24 waiting for the world to decide - 2004-03-21 YAY TACOS - 2004-03-16 camoflauged motorcycles - 2004-03-12 the one where I stop bitching - 2004-03-09 These words belong to me, myself and I.
